"With regard to the painting Three Boats (surely I did not entitle it thus?), this work was one of a great number of paintings of boats, boatsheds, fishermen etc. excuted during the years 1948-1960 when I was living at Palm Beach N.S.W. Some of these works comprised a show at David Jones in 1954. By the way, in my records the date of acquisition seems to be 1955, not 1953 as in your letter.
