Mt. Lindsay and Sunset, Queensland Border, Mt. Lindsey was donated to Lismore City Council by the artist’s son, Arthur J.W. Burgess, when he visited the Northern Rivers area from England in March 1953. Arthur Burgess left the Mayor of Grafton with three watercolours painted by his father around 1891-1892. There were two works for Lismore City Council and one for Grafton. Arthur Burgess wrote: “Two are of Mount Lindsay, one for each city, the other picture for Lismore being the Mountains on the Queensland Border”. |
