Artwork Statement

'Artificial 'horizon' line above which stands a bleached orange pyramidal form. Bleached sky with planet earth on LHS, space junk & abstracted half moon on RHS. Below primaeval jungle of cream & red palm trunks, blue/green background vegetation & abstracted fan palms across bottom foreground.

Inspired by the profusion, density and grandeur of the rainforest and mountains surrounding me I have moved beyond the physical and geograghical to express my sense of awe at the energy and life-force evident in nature, and my concern for its protection and preservation. Mountains are transformed into pyramids and we are transported through a shift in time and place (represented by an artificial horizon) from primaeval forest, through ancient deserts (a reference to the semitic origins), and into a future with skies resplendent with white moons, floating planet earth and futuristic symbols'.
