Artwork Statement

Neil Frazer is known for a style which places emphasis on his material of paint and its potential to capture the essence of a particular landscape. He captures the majesty of his subject, conjuring up a sense of awe, and the sublime. To translate the character of the places he chooses to paint, Frazer travels to the sites themselves, spending time there, making sketches, and then returning to his studio to paint. In the case of Floes, paint takes on the icy qualities of the Antarctic ice walls depicted.
