Rubery Bennett (1893 – 1987) was an important figure in the Australian art scene from the 1920s to the 1950s. As well as an impressionist painter he was secretary treasurer of the Royal Queensland Art Society in the early 1920s and a successful gallery director in Sydney until the 1950s. He is represented by the National Gallery of Australia and several state galleries.
