Richard BECK
Richard Beck is best known for his work as a commercial artist. He ran his own design consultancy in London before the Second World War. Important commissions were posters and press advertisements for London Transport, Shell and the Orient Line. Beck immigrated to Australia in 1940. In the 1950s he won many design awards working in Australia, including one for the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games. He became Head of Graphic Design at Prahran Technical College in 1969, where he worked until 1972.
