Oral ROBERTS

Oral Roberts was born at Kubawee mission, near Tuncester in 1960. He grew up in the Lismore area for all his life. He is a Bundjalung artist from the Widjubal clan and now lives at Evans Head.

"Some of the [my] art works have stories in them, about what we do now or have done in the past, like gathering and hunting and fishing and all of that. Sometimes the paintings mark down different areas, different territories. I mainly do animals because I just love painting them. My painting’s a mixture of feelings and things I see."

Roberts has been commissioned to do public artworks across the region, including in Lismore and Nimbin, at Southern Cross University, in public schools and at the Aboriginal Medical Centre in Lismore.
