Graham AUSTIN

Graham Austin studied at the National Art School, East Sydney from 1957 to 1961. He became a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute (AWI), in 1972 and was President from 1989 to 2003. During this time he was made an Honoury Life Member. He was President of the Peninsula Art Society from 1986 to 1988, and Foundation Senior Vice President/President of the Drummoyne Art Society from 1964 to 1967.

Austen's main theme is an abstracted image of the landscape. He focuses on the impact of the elements on nature, 'where water and wind carve the design, sculpting the moving surface'. Visit http://www.grahamaustin.com.au to view recent work.

Australia Day, 26th January 2006, Graham Austin was awarded the Order of Australia Medal, OAM, for service to the visual arts as a painter, particularly through the Australian Watercolour Institute.
