George Foxhill is one of Australia’s foremost painters in an expressionist style, and one of the few living Australian artists with a major European profile as an expressionist. Foxhill studied art in his native Austria, attending the Kunstegewerbeschule and the Volkshochschule in Salzburg after the war. He migrated to Australia, Canberra in 1956 and continued to develop his art practice.
