Brian James DUNLOP

Brian Dunlop was born in Sydney, Australia in 1938 and is considered to be one of Australia’s most notable figurative and still life painters.

As an artist, Dunlop has predominantly worked within the Sydney area, but has travelled extensively throughout Europe and India, allowing him to broaden his artistic focus and drive for inspiration.

Dunlop’s body of work comprises of a wide variety of subject including portraits, still lifes, landscapes and interiors. He was awarded the Sulman Prize in 1980 and has been commissioned to paint numerous portraits of public figures, including Queen Elisabeth II.

Brian Dunlop passed away on December 11th, 2009 due to a long standing heart condition.
