Angus McDonald is a collectable contemporary artist and painter who was born in Sydney in 1961. He lives and works in Lennox Head NSW.

As an artist McDonald observes and depicts a juxtaposition of gender through his predominantly bovine orientated drawings while exploring thought provoking still lives that compose of cloth and jugs have managed to extend beyond the 2d space to include sculptural works.

Such works also challenge the conventional ideas of beauty and perfection with the use of glib and often vulgar references to ugliness.

McDonald studied full time at the Julian Ashton Art School in Sydney and The Florence Academy of Art in Italy. He was awarded the Brett Whitely scholarship.

Angus McDonald has partaken in Solo and Group Exhibitions some of which include Love, Death and Cowhide (2010) and The 2009 Archibald Prize.
